STARS Workforce Program 
Striving Toward
Achieving Real Success or STARS is a youth program in Bay
County. The
mission of the program is to provide students the tools and knowledge to
achieve a balanced life
and provide an understanding of workplace issues and skills. While in
the program,
students will be able to establish career direction by placement in
meaningful work environments and exposure to the educational and
cultural opportunities. In addition, students may participate in
field trips, campus tours and industry visits.

TIGERS Program
Teens in Gear Enjoy Realize Succeed (TIGERS) program is an after school
youth program for
students in Franklin County. The program provides youth with
educational, cultural, and enriching activities to inspire
individual growth and increase self esteem, life skills, employability,
and positive decision making. Students in the program get one-on-one
goal setting and guidance and may participate in exciting field trips,
group activities, as well as paid and unpaid internships.

Youth Employment Services!
Youth Employment Services or YES is a program for out of school youth
who want to enter the workforce instead of pursuing secondary
education. It is designed to help those individuals get a good start on
a career path. All services offered through the YES program are free of
charge. These services include career exploration, job skill and
interest assessments, job search help, and resume and interviewing
skills assistance. Furthermore, the program can assist participants
with work related transportation and clothing needs.
In order to qualify
you must:

Be between the ages
of 18-21,
-
Meet income
requirements, and
-
If 18 years of age,
have a high school diploma or GED

Job Corps
Job Corps is a no-cost education and vocational training program
administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people
ages 16 through 24 get a better job, make more money, and take control
of their lives. At Job Corps, students enroll to learn a trade, earn a
high school diploma or GED and get help finding a good job. When you
join the program, you will be paid a monthly allowance; the longer you
stay with the program, the more your allowance will be. Job Corps
provides career counseling and transition support to its students for up
to 12 months after they graduate from the program.
To qualify you must:

legal resident,

requirements, and

Be ready, willing,
and able to participate fully in an educational environment.
