Are you interested
in finding your first job, trying a new one or learning valuable
workplace skills? The Gulf Coast Workforce Board can help. We have
programs and resources for youth between the ages of 14 – 21. Our
programs offer tutoring, study skills, drop out prevention, summer
employment, leadership development and volunteer opportunities for
eligible individuals.

Gulf Coast Community College’s Career Development Center
Through the Career Development Center at Gulf Coast Community College,
you can get the latest information on scholarships, careers and salary
information as well as link you to prospective employer web sites. You
can also get valuable tips for writing resumes and interview strategies.
Career Information for Kids
The Bureau of Labor Statistics' has created a website designed to
introduce kids in middle and high school to potential career paths,
including science, sports, nature, social studies, managing money, and
helping people. Each career page gives students valuable information,
such as what the job is like, what skills it requires, how much it pays,
and if it will be in demand in the future.
Careers in the Military
Learn about the opportunities that are available to you when you join
one of the United States military services.
Career Videos
Explore different industries and careers through online videos that show
people on the job, types of work, the abilities that people use to

Florida's Child Labor Program
This website is your one-stop guide to Florida's child labor law. The
purpose of the law is to protect the health and welfare of minors in the
workplace and safeguard their education. This user-friendly site
contains all the information you need about Florida's child labor work
laws and contains up-to-date publications, forms and information about
Florida's teen workforce. This site is designed to help guide teens,

whether its something you really want to pursue? Job Shadowing - where
you follow a professional as they go through their day - is a way to

Making It Count
Making it Count is yet another tool to help students and parents plan
for life after high school.
National Guard Youth Challenge Program
Unemployed high school dropouts ages 16 to 18 that want a second chance
- and are willing to work hard to get it - can sign up for the National
Guard Youth Challenge Program. The Challenge uses military training and
mentoring to help graduates get their degrees and go on to better lives.
Princeton Review
