Overview
The Workforce Training Center at
Gulf Coast Community College is a state-funded
service provider
offering educational and training opportunities in careers that
are
high wage and
in demand occupations.

Process:
Students will need to be certified eligible
for the program; therefore, several steps are required, including
completing the pre-screening application. From the pre-screening
application, a career manager
will provide
you with the necessary steps to be a participant in this program.
You will need to be motivated, make the first step and inquire: Get

Who is Eligible?
You might be eligible for Workforce
Training Center assistance if you
 |
are receiving
food stamps.
|
 |
are a foster
child of the State of Florida.
|
 |
are a member
of a family with low income according to
mandated guidelines.
|
 |
have been
terminated from your job and are entitled to unemployment compensation (UC)
benefits.
|
 |
have been laid
off from your job or have received notice that you will be permanently
laid off due to business closure.
|
 |
have lost your primary source of income as a result of a divorce or death.
|
 |
were
self-employed and lost your source of income due to economic conditions or
natural disasters.

When to Apply?
Applications to the GCCC
Workforce Training Programs are accepted year round. However, potential
students need to be mindful of specific program application deadlines when
considering assistance from the training center.
Pre-Screening Application
Complete the pre-screening
application form and return to it to the office or call for an appointment
(872-3853) with a career manager.

Opportunities and Obligations
The Workforce Training Center
provides students an opportunity to receive the needed resources and
follow up services. However, students are required to complete the
program and enter the work force shortly after completion of training.
Students are also expected to stay in touch with their career manager on a
monthly basis while in training. Once training is completed, students are
required to remain in a job for at least one year.
