companies are now hiring new employees under the Back to Work program.
In order to
qualify for these jobs, applicants
must have a child in the home or be pregnant, meet
income requirements, pass a background check, and be a legal resident

Funding
The Gulf Coast Workforce Board has received federal stimulus funding
to help local residents affected by the recession.
Job Training/Career
Counseling
If you are one of the thousands of
people without a job and running out of unemployment compensation, the
Workforce Center can help. We are now offering intensive
services to help you get back to work including
short term training
and career counseling.
To be potentially eligible for these services you must be unemployed
through no fault of your own. To learn more, contact the

Job Seeker
Workshops
The Workforce Center is
now offering free workshops to assist dislocated workers affected by
the recent layoffs. The workshops will last approximately one
hour and will cover valuable information including job search tools,
training opportunities, and unemployment compensation benefits.
Workshops will be held every Wednesday at 10 AM at the Workforce
Center. Space is limited.

Unemployment
Compensation
Unemployment Compensation (also called unemployment insurance)
provides temporary wage replacement benefits to qualified individuals
who are out of work through no fault of their own.
The Workforce Center can provide you with a copy of the
Florida Unemployment Claims booklet which has detailed information and
instructions regarding unemployment compensation. Workforce Center
staff is unable to provide specific information concerning eligibility
or claim status, but can provide general assistance in completing a
claim form.
Filing a Claim
You can file your Florida Unemployment Compensation claim online at
https://www2.myflorida.com/apps/uc/fluid/ or by calling toll-free
at 1-800-204-2418 during the following hours:
Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
